The long weekend

The long weekend is now drawing to a close as i sit here in my room and type this.Reflecting upon the time that I have come to the conclusion that it was,for the most part well spent. On Saturday I went to town to check out the jazz festival that was on with a few friends.I found it average at best,as Jazz music isnt really something id listen to,but we went out regardless.
Sunday was spent quietly a home with a few friends. We did not get up to much, mostly just computer games and chatting. And so I come to Monday, today was a very lazy day for me,not much in the way of anything interesting happened,I just stayed at home played guitar and surfed the internet.I would decribe my long weekend as largely medicore and of little interest, although at times it was quite entertaining.
This is Daniel, signing off for tonight.Until next time same bat channel, same bat time.

The tale of the uneventfull weekend.

Well what to say?My weekend was a largely uneventfull set of affairs.A few friends came over,we played some computer games and chatted.I spent a large quantity of the time playing guitar and learning a few Rammstein songs,to me that was the most "productfull" aspect of my time off.
I also aqquired a few albums which I listened to for quite some time, the most noticable of which being Rammsteins new album,"Liebe ist für alle da".They are,as one can see from the name of the album a german metal band.I found this album to be quite good,my favorite sing on it being,"Ich Tu Dir Weh".The album is the bands 6th and is a follow up of there 2005 album Rosenrot.
My weekend was also populated with bouts of Call of Duty:World at War,as I have mentioned above. On saturday me and 3 friends played this particular game for approximately 2 hours. The weekend that was the 17-18th of October was at best a uneventfull one with a myriad of uneventfull happenings.

A little about myself.

Taking a break from reviews, today i decided that i would write up something about me.Well my names Daniel,im 18 and live in an area called Berrings a few miles outside of cor city,in the countryside. There is not much to truly tell about me,I guess you could say im your average joe,Ive an interest in music and games.I dont care for political partys and rather to not choose a side when forced too. What more can I really say that would help convince you of what its like to be me?There is only so much that words can do.Now for something a little offkey, something that caught my interest was this documentary on the size of the universe,i know it seems like a random tangent to disect into, but i have nothing much else of merit to coney, but i digress. My point is that it made me think about how incredibly ignorant it is to believe that there could not be life out there, million if not billions of solar systems and galaxies,it struck me as being an aful waste of space if we are the only one.I suppose that after in the end all human beings, by nature, have a desire to know.

This has been Daniel Flynn, tune un next week for more takes of interest!

My video game review of MotorStorm:Artic Edge

I have been a fan of Motorstorm since its debut on the Playstation 3. I have really been wanting this franchise to carry on to Sony's handheld. My wish came true and very few compromises were made to get it there. You get most of the content from Pacific Rift in a new setting that is actually more interactive than its predecessors on its big brother consoles. As you all should know by its apt title this Festival is set in a relatively cold climate. Alaska is where you'll find yourself this time around, and its every bit as hectic as the last two locals you visited.

As far as graphics go it looks pretty great for a PSP game. The tracks are detailed beautifully with lots of rich textures and signage and the signature overdone archways that Motorstorm is known for. You also can cause rockslides and avalanches, and with the proper timing you can wipe out the competition. The vehicles are pretty good too but lack the great damage models from the console versions. Not to say that there aren't damage models at all, but they are severely toned down. The vehicles won't explode into a thousand pieces like the console versions, instead you'll lose a couple major parts and some generic particle effects. Overall its expected considering the PSP's lower grade of power but still rather impressive. The drivers are rendered nicely with some ragdoll physics. Once again not comparable to the Havok engine, but for a portable game it's rather impressive. Sound on the other hand is decent at best, the vehicles have some nice rumbles, and the track noise from your tires scraping on the surface is decent enough, but nothing really sticks out. The soundtrack is pretty good with alot of todays mainstream rock and metal. One of the features this game pulls over from Pacific Rift is custom soundtracks. You can take up to 128 tracks from you Memory Stick and they will be automatically added to your customisable in game track list. Makes for great racing rockin to your own songs.

Some things that I'm glad that they didn't bring over from the last two outings that being the nearly impossible AI. Now its alot more difficult to wreck from other drivers then it is to fall victim to the environment. Even then its a little bit farther between wrecks than it was in the last games. A very welcome addition. Something that helps this are the solid controls that are actually consistent for a change. The difficulty is still fairly steep but not borderline impossible. It makes the game that much more enjoyable. You also have tons of content at your finger tips. From the robust Festival mode that will give you the opportunity to unlock extra liveries, and some add on parts for the new customization features Arctic Edge has to offer. You also have the Wreckreation option which gives you access to Time Attack, Free Races, and the great Multiplayer suite which allows for 8 player Infrastructure and Ad-Hoc modes. I have not had the ability to test this out yet but I have read that it runs silky smooth.

In my experience with the Motorstorm franchise it has been hectic and fun(albeit frustrating at times). Overall it's my favorite racing series yet. This one stands up to its older brothers by creating a new experience that sticks to the original formula while being portable. If your a fan of arcadish offroad racing you might wanna check this out.
